WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO DURING A YOGA CLASS?
The classes are designed for a general level of practice whilst also welcoming beginners.
The classes are carefully planned every week to follow a different sequence of poses so everyone can enjoy the practice safely. Classes begin with a few moments of quiet, followed by poses sequenced to allow the body to build up stamina, strength and flexibility. Students gradually enjoy a greater variety of poses as the weeks and months go by with a deeper understanding of their benefits.
The classes always end with time for Savasana (relaxation) so you can hope to leave the class feeling energised, rejuvenated and balanced.
YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE
Yoga is for anyone irrespective of age, gender, health, religion and circumstances in life. Yoga is not competitive. You will not be judged against other people.
Classes are comprised of movement, traditional poses, and the use of props. This could be anything from using the wall to practice so it becomes the prop, to resting and supporting the body with bolsters.
Foam blocks, bricks and belts are often used throughout the class to help everyone reach their potential. For example aiding the stretch of tight hamstrings or back muscles. They are also used to enhance the benefits that the practice of the many different groups of poses bring.
